Contemplating Purple
Size: 12″ x 12″ matted and backed; Artwork: 9.5″ x 9.5″ image in mat opening. Giclee print on archival paper. Personally printed and signed by artist.
This is an experiment in fractal making for me. Up until now I've been using machine-like digital objects to make my fractals and making them more organic has been a challenge. This last week I have been experimenting with a 3D digital bust sculpture that I had made in another 3D program. I was able to bring it into my fractal program as a 3D object (as an .stl to be exact) and then combine it with my other objects in the fractal image I was making. It turned out a little eerie, but I'm a fan of science fiction anyway.
